so some sad new. apparently "what in the world" doesn´t make any sense in Spanish... and I've been saying it for 6 months now.
Other than that this week was pretty awesome. As a zona and district we have a goal for every companionship be teaching 10 families. To find more people my companion and I felt we should look in the records for old investigators that didn't end up getting baptized. We've found quite a few but there was one guy, M, we especially wanted to find. He was almost baptized but his record didn't say why he wasn´t. The first time we went to his house his grandma let us in. We began to teach her but it didn't get very far. She told us we were condemned because we didn't get our "little gods" and she couldn't stop laughing. Sweet lady. We went back the other day with a glimmer of hope and M was there! He answered the door and said "ELDERS!" (close buddy). He explained that he had to leave for work and that's why he couldn't keep meeting with the missionaries. He also told us about how he took his book of Mormon to the beach and lost it but lucky he had written down the pages he liked. We gave him a new book of Mormon and he's excited to re-read it. We'll see what happens! Hermana D and I have the faith he'll make major progress.
This week I was asked to give a talk. I also forgot about it so I hardly had anything prepared. Just as we left the house to go to church President Obeso called and told us he´d be coming to church with us!! Eeek! I was nervous but some how the spanish came out alright (i think?)
oh yeah. one time when we were knocking doors this couple was just like too good to be true and let us right in! yeah, too good to be true. They were missionaries for another church. They had a lot of questions and as we started to explain the message of the restoration they began to testify against us. It was hard to sit there as they began to bash the foundation of everything I am. I'm so grateful for the example of the Savior and His pure love for everyone, even through persecution.
I love the mission. I'm never coming home. I love the scriptures. I'm learning sooo much everyday. I love the Lord. I love His work. I love you all!
Hermana Meacham
