i just hope it won't stunt their progress. we're praying really hard and trying new ways to help the people we are teaching while looking for new people.
The mission is challenging in every single way. As soon as you think you're getting the hang of it you get a curve ball. I have grown so much but I can see there's still a lot of growth ahead of me. I'm excited.
I started the Book of Mormon in Spanish this year and it's challenging but so fun! it's so interesting to read in another language. It's such a testimony builder for me of it's truth! Anyway, so I get to study the experiences of Nephi EVERYDAY. Nephi is probably one of the neatest people that have ever lived. If you need an example of faith, diligence, obedience, or almost any other Christlike attribute go ahead and flip to 1 Nephi. This week I studied in 1 Nephi 17, sooo cool. I'll just give it to you in nutshell real quick.
So Nephi and his family are in the desert right, for EIGHT YEARS! walking all day and eating raw meat, and their wives even have children in the desert. So finally they get to this land of abundance with fruit and water and abundance. They set up camp and I'm sure are just livin' the life. Then just days later Nephi is talking to the Lord in the mountains and the Lord says build a ship and sail out into the unknown waters.... uhh haha for realzies? I would probably pretend I didn't hear Him and go back down the mountain to eat some fruit. but Nephi says "Where should I go to find material to start?". He didn't ask where they were going, why, or cry. In the end of the chapter he testifies to his brothers that if the Lord commanded him to turn water into stone he could do it.
I know sometimes the things in our lives seem nearly impossible to do or overcome and it would just be a lot easier to forget all the Lord has asked for us. But all things are possible WITH OUR SAVIOR.
There are some nights we come home and I think "there's no way I'm getting up to do this all over again" but I remember my Savior and pray for His guidance and help and every morning I get back up to do His work. Because of Him. I'm so grateful for the Book of Mormon and this opportunity I have to share it with others everyday.
thanks for everything.
love you all
