well I caught the cold. We ended up staying in the house for almost another full day. But I had enough of that and we went back to work by, although I didn't feel so top-notch.

Well we're teaching this new guy. His name is F. He took the lessons in Argentina a while back with his son and they both wanted to get baptized but F had to leave suddenly and come back to Chile. He lives in the countryside and didn't know there was a church here but one day he was talking to this lady and he said he's "catholic but more like a Mormon". Long story short for some miracle we came in contact with him! He's old and almost deaf. It makes it pretty hard to teach him but he has such a sweet soul and lovvves the Book of Mormon.

We also have an investigador named M. She is INCREDIBLE. She's so receptive to all the principles of the gospel, like it's so common sense for her. She's hilarious. Every time she opens the door she yells "Hola chicias!" and she's always dancing and singing hymns. The other day she told us that last year she was hospitalized and should have died. She said God gave her a second chance and she knows it's to accept the gospel and be baptized. She was a little uncertain for a while but yesterday she came to church and she had an amazing experience, she even cried! She never cries! AND she bore her testimony in Sunday school! She said she's more certain than ever she needs to prepare for baptizm. We'll attend a baptism in Villarrica with her this Saturday and she said after seeing the baptism she'll decide whether to accept the 22nd of August2as her baptismal date!!! I love her so much.

It was seriously such a beautiful weekend. 

I've been studying "Our Heritage". It's incredible what the early church members went through. They all gave EVERYTHING. Like nephi/lehi style and crossed countries to build the Church of God. Some shared pairs of boot and coats to go on missions. With the prophet, the apostles and other church leaders all over the world, without text messages or gmail, it's proof that God really does direct His church through men called by Him who hold the sacred preisthood. I'm so grateful I've been given so much and had to sacrifice so little. I'll never complain about having cold feet every again.

to answer a few questions from the pops:

-I don't chop so much wood now because we don't have a wood burning stove. We use a little gas powered thing. If you sit close enough you don't feel the cold. haha no just kidding, i'm fine. it's not as cold here in Pucón. Although my equadorian companion is dying of cold. poor thing.

-no i didn't preach from the doorway while my companion was recovering. Good idea, I'm make sure to do it the next time. I ended up cleaning, studying, painting, and writing in my journal.

-My spanish is improving with Hermana A. I'm more acustom to hear it, full speed and everything. But believe it or not, the times my spanish really improved was with gringas, white girls. You gotta step up your game.

There's a lot of work to do here in Pucón and it's definitely going forward. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. To tell you a little more about the sector, we're a branch, a really small branch. Last week there was 16  of us. Four of which are missionaries. It's also a touristy city so sometimes we're lucky to have visiting members.  We're doing a lot of work with the members and recent converts to help strengthen the branch. They are incredible. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to get to know the pioneers of Chile. 

We're working really hard to find new people to teach. We've found a couple of new people that are really receptive. One is named E. She lives with her mom and her two sons. She doesn't have any religious backround. But she told us of an experience she had when her son was sick. She said she didn't know what to do and she began to talk to God for the first time. She said "i have no idea what i said but the next day he was healthy. I don't know anything about God and Christ but I know He exsit's because he answered me". SOO COOL. I hope she accepts the gospel. cross your fingers and say a prayer. 

My poor compy got sick and we were stuck in the house for a few days. Lucky we were able to do division yesterday with some sisters in the ward. I was starting to go crazy in the house.

HOLI FAMILIA Y AMIGITOS

i'm short on time but i wanted to tell you guys how important the family is to God. Being here in the mission I've met a lot of people and a lot of families. The gospel was given to us so we can  have happy, healthy families but FOREVER. I have seen the diference the gospel makes. I have seen it actively work in the lives of people to change them for the better to be more like Christ. 

(I'm just super giddy to have a new niece and because my brother goes on a mission in like a week)

This week we had a lot of conferences and meeting. There are so many goals and expectations as missionaries (and as members too) it's hard sometimes to feel like we're adaquete (spelling?) to do the job. But the thing is we're not, neither can we every be. And the Lord doesn't even expect us to be. For this very reason He came to earth. So that WITH HIM and only THROUGH HIM we can reach our goals. I know His grace really "is sufficent". But we must submit ourselves to Him and His will. 

As a missionary I've had to humble myself, turn to Him and ask for strength. I have felt His hand on my shoulder guiding me and filling in for my weaknesses. Grace isn't a factor that only comes into play as we stand at the jugdment bar. It is an on-going gift that began the moment we were born.

Transfers. 
The best and the worst, cierto?

I was hard to leave San Pablo because miracles were literally started to pour from heaven in that little town. Hermana S is like the Super-missionary. She taught me SO much. Our time was too short together. But our time together will continue to teach and influence me for the rest of my mission. To all you missionaries or future missionaries: don´t waste a single second. The mission is so worth it to give it your all. And that's when the miracles happen.

Oh I wanted to tell ya'll, my last day in San Pablo we stopped by to say bye to a less active we've been teaching. M E. She was baptized 2 years ago and is a single mom, working to support her kids and her mom. We challenged her to pray and talk to her boss about having sundays off so she could go to church. As we said bye she told us she quit her job. That she knew it was what the Lord wanted her to do and she didnt know what she would do but that the Lord would bless her for being obedient. She is such a amazing person. She's inspired me to trust the Lord in all I do and be perfectly obedient.

PUCÓN: It is incredibly beautiful here! Super touristy. We're like right up against the Volcano Villarrica. At night you can see the lava glowing at the top (pray it doesn't explode..eek). My companion is Hermana A. She's from Equador and this is her last transfer in the mission. She's little and sassy and knows a lot about the scriptures. She was baptized when she was 14 and her parents aren´t members. I admire her so much for her courage and trust in the Lord.

We're teaching a few families that are really great! All of them are practically members. They read, they pray, they come to church (sometimes) and they've been investigating for a long time. 

One could is Y and D. They have three kids. They want to be baptized but dont what to get married. 

Another is M. She also wants to be baptized but her husband doesn't want to get married.

JUST GET MARRIED GUYS.

I'm still getting to know everyone but I love it here. It's also a branch, reallly small. The church is a little white house. Awww. But the church bought land to build a church, we just need to rise in church assistance before they start building. I'm ready to work.

MOM HERE...What a GREAT surprise!!! I got this text from another missionary mom...
"I am here in Pucon Chile picking up my son Elder B from his mission and met the sister missionaries on the street today. Thought you might enjoy a photo of your daughter. She was delightful!" 
AHHHHHH! She know what a mama needs!!!

I can't even begin to tell ya'll how happy I am. THE GOSPEL IS BEAUTIFUL.

I know the Lord blesses us after we put in all our efforts. The flood gates have opened in San Pablo and we are finding soo many people ready to accept the gospel. We're teaching so many families!

-La Familia F: we invited them to baptism. they didn't accept a date but said they recognize what it means to make a covenant with God and how important it is. A little patience and prayer will always do the trick.

-R and F: An old sweet couple that are praying to receive an answer about Joseph Smith. Their home smells like Grandma Beth's home <3

-I and E: She was baptized when she was 14 and then became atheist shortly after. The other day they told us of an experience they had that made them believe in God. Now they're looking for His church.

-N: We contacted her in the street and she practically asked for an invitation to church. When we told her she could know the truth by praying and promised her she would feel God's love she asked "really?!"

-V and S: V is a single mom that has been looking to feel close to God for a long time. When we taught her the Restoration she almost cried for feeling such a peace she had forgotten.

-R and L: Oh my gosh. they are incredible. Mom and son. Our second appointment she told us "I was feeling content in my life without a religion until you guys came, now I'm hungry to know the truth! Where can I find it?!" They've turned to God and are reading and praying everyday to find it. We'll invite them to be baptized today! Say a prayer!

I love San Pablo. I so glad the Lord sent me here so that I could be learn, grow, and change. so that I could come closer to my Savior and recognize Him in my life.

Oh ya, so we have cambios ): (: so many mixed emotions. I'm going to Pucon! I'll have my first latin companion! yay!

It's incredible how being a missionary changes you mind set so much. Things before that occupied my mind before now don't even cross and I'm finding joy in the simplest of things.

The mission has officially taken a toll on my body. I had a limp for than a week cause I did something to my hip and my knee (never found out what it was), I also had blisters on my feet and legs and it's been terribly cold here but everyday as we left the house we got lost in the work of the Lord! Our Heavenly Father truly does bless His servants. Thank you for your prayers!

Remember M? Our investigator that loves church but won't get baptized? Well now we're focusing in on her husband M. He's been reactivated and I'm been so blessed to see this change in him. The other day we taught tithing and before we even taught the doctrine he was already asked us to help him know how much he should pay. The next day we passed by to use the bathroom and he said "can you come tomorrow with a tithing slip to show me how to fill it out?!". M is a quiet guy, but not about tithing, he loves it. We left their house giddy.

We're also teaching a lady that got baptised when she was 12 and then was atheist for a long while. Just 2 months ago she had some experiences where she couldnt deny that God existed and began looking for a church just as we knocked on her door. We met her husband the other day and he told us he started reading the book of mormon from the beginning. #futureforeverfamily

I feel so blessed to be able to see the little changes in the lives of those we're teaching. It's happens little by little but it happens and it's beautiful.

I'm so happy. I'm praying for you all and I thank you all for your many prayers.

I love you so much. I'm so glad my Heavenly father sent me to you. Yesterday in my prayers i thanked my heavenly father for you and almost began to cry because i realized why I'm so grateful for you. you've helped me understand and come to know my father in heaven as my father here in earth.

I know you love me so much and i'm so grateful for all you do to show me that love. I know you love the Lord and you have shown me how i can show Him my love too. Thank you for your example in all you do.

1/2 way mark!

I've officially completed half my mission. It's super crazy. I had this heart to heart with the spirit as I took the sacrament yesterday. I'm super lucky! I have learned soo much on my mission. My mind has expanded and changed my way of thinking forever. The gospel is so important. More important than whatever thing you could imagine. I'm so happy and blessed to be able to share it with other people but the biggest blessing of all is the difference I've had in my life. I LOVE MY SAVIOR SO MUCH I CANT EVEN EXPRESS IT.

WE FOUND SO MANY NEW INVESTIGADORS THIS WEEK! 

(MOM HERE... just a quick fyi.. she is constantly spelling investigators with a D...investiga"d"ors! I can just hear her saying in English with a Spanish accent. "Investigadddors" rolling her D. I sometimes correct her spelling and sometimes not....it's so cute and funny, I should stop fixing it. what learning a foreign language does to your English. ok on with her email...)

I really learned the importance of nightly planning and then following those planes (haha, another one)  the next day- no importa. The Lord sees those planes (spelling it with a Chilean accent, ok sorry Paige, I'll stop)  and makes them what He needs them to be. Yesterday was a little draggy, all our citas fell through but we followed our planes :) :) :)  and found a family of 5! We helped them with their wood and afterwoods (<-- punny) we taught them about the restoration.

-N is doing good! She's in Santiago but we've been calling and she said she's been reading the Book of Mormon and she's been able to cut back on smoking and feel great! I'm sad to think if I get transferred I wont see her again.

-E is doing well too! She has so many righteous desires to find the truth and act in it. She wants her husband and son to accept the gospel too, but the thing, her husband works nights. So it's difficult to teach them as a family. A little prayer and perseverence will do the trick.

- M and M come to church every week although we've cut back from teaching them often. I know one day she'll get baptized and have an eternal family.
